I stuck to my guns and did one of my spinning DVDs on Friday night. Maybe it was the pizza, I can't be sure, but I rode for an hour and burned 600 calories! I really like the DVD, too. The instructor is cheerful and peppy without being nauseatingly so. She suggests bicycling scenarios so that what I'm doing on my spinner has more validity than just pedaling. For instance, the DVD starts with a hill climb sequence. The idea is that I'm supposed to be meeting a friend for a ride, but I've gotten a late start so I have to really push it to catch up. There's also a part with an angry dog wanting to bite my ankles and so forth.
I did the best that I could, but there's plenty of room for improvement. There were times when I just couldn't do it any longer. This DVD will continue to challenge me I'm sure.
I had planned to do the second DVD on Sunday night, but poor time management ruined my plans. Basically, I just goofed around doing this and that until suddenly it was 7:00 and time to consider cooking dinner. I'll give it a try later this week on one of my non-tennis nights.
Speaking of tennis, my pinky finger on my right hand is hurting again. It started last Tuesday during doubles and bothered me quite a bit on Saturday. The cyst hasn't increased in size, so I don't have any idea what the problem could be now. If the pain continues, I guess I'll have to go back to the hand doctor to find out what he thinks. Darn! Seems that there's always something hurting or falling apart on me.
Back to the subject of spinning, I went to Adventure Cycles on Saturday and checked out the new spinner that they're selling. It's the current version of Jeanene's spinner. The new one is white instead of silver and has an additional computer that keeps track of time, distance, etc. It also has pulse sensors and will give an estimate of calories burned. Nice little feature for no additional cost. It's one I will be considering if I decide to make the purchase.
While yesterday wasn't quite as productive as I would have liked, I did wash the heck out of my little car. It was disgustingly filthy so it took a long time. The wheels were especially bad. They're such a pain to wash, too. But I took my time and enjoyed an audiobook while I worked. The car is too clean to drive now!
