Now this weekend was a bit more active than last weekend. By a long shot, actually. There was no sleeping in and no napping. I'm quite exhausted today.
On Friday, before I could think about it and change my mind, I changed into gym attire and headed to the fitness center immediately after work. Earlier, I had taken the time to find a Podrunner podcast at 150 BPM (slow, about a 12 minute mile) to keep me occupied and running at a steady pace. I got on a treadmill, warmed up at a fast walk for five minutes, then sped up into a slow run. The first five minutes went by quickly, but the next five, not so much. I was determined to run for 20 minutes, as that was how long I ran the last time. Then I decided that I should run an extra minute, just a small increase. Once I finally made it to 21, which was tough enough, I decided that since I was so close, I should try for 25 minutes. And I made it, though just barely.
We did have cheese pizza on Friday night and it wasn't very exciting. I really missed the sausage and the ranch dressing. Usually I eat my two slices, then eat a couple of Tom's crusts. But without my favorite dipping sauce, I didn't bother with the crusts. Bah.
On Saturday I played tennis and had a pretty good morning. Though I played fairly well, I didn't win a single set, which was rather odd. At about 11:30 I was between sets and beginning to consider quitting for the day. But I hung around watching the others playing and suddenly some players came off their court and I ended up in another foursome.
I figured the calories burned in the extra set would pay for a Slurpee! I had planned on skipping my favorite treat, in the name of weight loss, but I didn't have to. And then, as luck would have it, the Wild Cherry flavor was in defrost mode, so I opted for a Crystal Light Apple Mango instead. At first it tasted really good and I began to think that my Slurpee habit could be sustained. Then the artificial sweetener after taste kicked in and I wasn't even able to finish the whole drink. Bummer.
The rest of Saturday was spent lounging around watching TV. I watched a few recorded shows (excellent season finale for In Plain Sight!) then got caught up watching the Food Network and could not drag myself off of the couch.
On Sunday we got up early (6:00!) for bicycling on River Road. Tom and I were the first ones from our group to arrive at the park in Cocoa Village around 8:30. There were lots of people already there running and bicycling. Apparently most people start their workouts a bit earlier than our group does. Eventually everyone arrived and we rode both sides, which was about 27 miles and took around 2 hours, including a break at each end. There was a pretty strong wind from the southeast so half of the ride was quite tough.

So, my tonsil stone is back. Three weeks almost to the day from the last time. Apparently, that's the cycle. I am seeing my ENT this afternoon, so I'm being very careful to only eat soft food today so that the darned thing is till there for his inspection. I'm also feeling as though I am coming down with something and I wonder if it's related. Hm.
