Sinus-wise, the week has gotten better. I've been using the neti pot and I've been able to breathe. Not much to complain about, I guess.
The weather has been hot, but dry, so I was able to attend tennis clinic on Wednesday and hit with Alex yesterday. Wednesday wasn't too awfully hot, perhaps because we started at 6:00. But yesterday was brutal. We took lots of towel and water breaks. Since we weren't actually playing a game, we were able to keep the running to a minimum. As a consequence, I only burned 350 calories from our hour of activity.
Yes, I'm trying to lose weight again. Which is a good thing. My activities are a great help toward achieving my goal, but I have to be careful that I don't let my activities become something that I have to do, rather than something that I want to do.
I'm not exactly doing Weight Watchers this time around. Well, I am following the principles of WW, but I am not tracking points. Instead, I am using SparkPeople.com to track my nutrition and my fitness. A friend at the fitness center turned me onto this website. I hardly know how to describe it, because it's so amazing. The wealth of information is outstanding. Overwhelming, even.
I could either go on and on and on… or stop here. Because it's really hard to explain in a simple way. If it sounds interesting to you, check out the website and learn more about it.
Speaking of goals and fitness and stuff, there's another website that has me intrigued. It's called One Hundred Pushups. It's a six week training program to - you guessed it - train a person to be able to do one hundred pushups. Getting stronger is definitely one of my goals and I would love to be able to power out 100 pushups. I'm not sure how many I can do in a row. Earlier this week I did 30, but it was three sets of 10. Last week I did 50 for my final fitness assessment, but they were modified (knee) pushups.
I think I'm going to give the program a try though. It's free, so what's the harm? There's two other programs of interest to me: Two Hundred Situps (crunches) and Two Hundred Squats. I wonder if it would be possible to do all three programs in conjunction with one another?
