Another average weekend. Not particularly good, but not bad either. Just so-so. Of course, I'll take an average weekend over any sort of Monday anytime.
I didn't do any exercise at all, which is a tad unusual. And I got lots of sleep, also unusual. On Friday I had a pedicure appointment right after work, so I couldn't go to the fitness center, as I have been doing lately. I had decided earlier in the week to skip Saturday morning tennis and just sleep in for a change. And boy did I sleep. I went to bed at 10:30 Friday night and didn't get up until 10:30 the next morning. I think I really needed the rest.
Another reason I skipped tennis was so that I could take care of some things around the house and run a few errands. Generally on Saturdays, by the time I get home from tennis, shower and have lunch, most of the day is gone. Not to mention that I'm too tired to get very motivated. So I did some cleaning and organizing, took a load of cardboard to the recycling center and dropped off some donations to the SPCA thrift shop.
I didn't feel too bad about not playing tennis because I was expecting to take a long bike ride on Sunday morning. But that didn't happen. Tom woke up with a headache, which continued all day. I guess I could have ridden by myself, but that's no fun. So I did yard work instead. Really no fun. Though I do get a lot of satisfaction out of seeing what I have accomplished at the end of the task.
It's just as well we didn't go biking because it rained! Not one of our usual summer thunderstorms, just a shower out of nowhere. I was busy with the electric trimmers when is started to sprinkle. I kept trimming away, though moving a bit faster, and I think I did a heck of a good job, considering the stress I was under. Once the rained slowed to a sprinkle, I went back at it again, this time with hand clippers. I cleared up the clippings, and since they pretty much filled up our one can for yard trash, I was forced to quit. Next weekend I'll start on the front yard again as things are getting shaggy up there already. It's really non-stop, isn't it?
Wow! A 12-hour night of sleep? Sounds wonderful. And about that yardwork...it's growing season all the time there, isn't it?
