I've been busy. Too busy to post. Busy is good though. Busy makes the work day go by faster. Busy gets the weekend here sooner. I'm all in favor of busy.
(I've been working on this post all week!)
So the weekend was good. On Friday, Tom and I took the Mazda to Discount Tire in Sanford for some new shoes. Hard to believe it needed new ones already, but Tom said it did and I trust him with all things car related. The new tires are so much quieter and smoother than the others. While we were over that way, we got together with Jenn and Mark. We visited at their house for a bit, then went to dinner at a German restaurant called The Willow Tree Cafe. It was a happening place, let me tell you! The German band had the restaurant rocking with traditional style music. Lots of people were toasting with giant mugs of beer. The food was delicious and the servings were huge. My favorite were the potato pancakes served with sour cream and apple sauce. They were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Next time we go I'm going to get two orders and skip everything else!
Saturday morning was tennis, as usual. I played pretty well, which always makes it more fun. It was a beautiful day, too. I might have been in the running to win the balls (The player with the highest number of games won, gets a can of tennis balls. It's more about the bragging rights), except for one poor set against some much better players. But that's okay - I just play for fun anyway.
Saturday afternoon I took myself to Florida Mall. Tom wasn't interested in going and it was supposed to be a short trip anyway. Ha! What was I thinking? I couldn't have really believed I wouldn't spend hours shopping at my leisure. Silly me. Tom, of course, knew better. And bless his little heart, he never once called me to see if I was ever coming home.
The main reason I went to Florida Mall is because Macy's had their Hotel Collection sheets on sale and I needed to see the gray ones in person to determine if the color would match our comforter. I could have ordered them online, but that would have been risky. Good thing I did because the 500 thread count sheets I had in mind did not match at all. They were more like a grayish lavender. However, the 600 thread count sheets in Nickel coordinated wonderfully. In addition to the sale price, the clerk also produced some coupons which saved quite a lot.
The sheets were expensive, I don't deny it. But they are oh, so awesome. Smooth, cool, soft and worth every penny.
One good thing about the bad economy - the retailers are really hustling for a sale. I ended up with quite a few freebies, just for buying something I wanted anyway. Score!
