After another week's hiatus, I returned to the gym last night. While I was absent, a couple of the girls painted the wall behind the pull-up bars and it looks really good - thick red and black stripe along the bottom and along the top. Plus, the gym has expanded into another warehouse bay so there's more room in the main gym area. Nice!
I couldn't do the actual workout because pull-ups were out of the question. I tried a few, as a test, but my arm started hurting almost immediately. Bummer. But I was able to participate in the other activity: front squats. I have to say - I hate front squats. They are uncomfortable and painful. The fronts of my shoulders are bruised today from holding the heavy bar and I can still feel the bar pressing against my throat. I only managed 65 pounds, too. So seven sets of seven, resting in between. Surprisingly tough and today my legs are telling me about it. Imagine if I'd had to do the chest to bar pull-ups too!
