Writing posts clearly isn't a habit yet. One would think in nearly a week's time there would be much to write about. Yet I am sitting here watching a blinking cursor.
Okay - here's what is on my mind right now. Christmas. Putting away Christmas. It's the middle of January and we still have the tree up and decorated. It's really quite pretty and we both enjoy it so much. But I plan to start un-decorating it this afternoon. I love my ornaments but I will be cursing myself for having so dad-gummed many of them. Tom's job will be to take apart the tree and fit the sections into the nifty bags we bought this year. Oh, the tree is new too. Our old one was getting very cantankerous about lighting up fully. Two of the lower tiers would take turns turning off and the game was getting old. So we found a beautiful tree at Lowe's and it has a great feature - the lights can be white, colored or they will even go back and forth form white to colored. This is great because I prefer white lights and Tom prefers colored lights. So we were each able to view our preference and it was actually pretty both ways.
Some people find their homes boring after the festive holiday decorations come down. But I find it extremely refreshing and peaceful. I boxed up all of the house decorations yesterday, then dusted and vacuumed. As long as I don't face the Christmas tree it looks great.
I do have a gazillion boxes that still need to be put back in the attic. Not my favorite activity I have to say. Part of the problem is that our attic "floor" consists of various sized boards criss-crossing each other and nothing is level. I would dearly love to have someone fix that up professionally, but I don't have a clue where to start looking for someone who does that sort of work.
